Friday, 11 March 2011: the nuclear disaster at Fukushima in Northern Japan shoked my world. The accident was started by the Tōhoku earthquake that generated a 14 m high tsunami and hit the plant's seawall. Radiation released to the atmosphere and later the zone around the plant was evacuated.

A selection of 9 tracks, along with a very long one in low bitrate mp3 (edited at 24 minutes), was crafted as a dark meditation in direct response to the escalating post-earthquake crisis in Japan.

This topical selection of dark ambient soundscapes was produced over the course of several days, as the creator beheld news stories of the unfolding catastrophe following the great earthquake and resultant tsunami which struck Japan in March of 2011. With each day the scope of the tragedy expanded, as the loss of life, of whole towns, was estimated, and the alarming development of failure in multiple nuclear reactors, threatening further destruction.

Having in mind the running order of Three Mile Island, Chernobyl, Kozloduy and Fukushima accidents in almost 30 years time we have nothing less than worries of the present as a result of past mistakes upon ruthless speculation and pointless consumption.

Digital released on the 14th of March 2011 by Webbed Hand Records netlabel. First time released now in physical format. Green tree leaves were used to "decorate" the cover as contrast to dead nature life that any nuclear accident lives afterwards and for a very long time. Hand numbered, glued and then tied with a part of VHS tape. Cassettes used are early 90s normal grey copies, real time dubbed with a Sony machine of that era.

Hiss upon field recordings, dark atmosphere as a foreseen always repeated danger of survival. Be aware! Bitter memories and DIY art.
